Perspective
Panama City, Florida will never be the same. In fall of 2018, the Gulf Coast town known for its beautiful
beaches was devasted by category five Hurricane Michael. Homes were moved from their foundation by surge waters, damaged by fallen trees and 155 mph winds. The destruction left in its wake may not have been widely publicized, but to the residents displaced by the storm and those picking their lives from the rubble, this storm was very real.
This is a story of two individuals and their experience during and after Hurricane Michael. While they’re
strangers, they dealt with and continue to deal with one of the nation’s worst hurricanes on record.
